Reservations and Signing Up
Although we are not presently open (planning on a Bradenton, FL debut in 2025 or as soon as a class of 70 is established), we do recommend that you sign up as seen on the top orange button stating “Sign Up” without any obligation whatsoever.
There are two ways to “sign up”. The top orange button seen on right hand side of every page titled “SIGN UP” is used to indicate your interest. By leaving us your email when you sign up, we will send you our weekly email to inform you of the latest developments happening with HSAFH.
This differs from “Reserve a Spot” which is just to the left of the Contact Us” link on the bottom row. The “Reserve a Spot” is an indication you have serious intent to have one or more of your children attend HSAFH.
By “Reserving a Spot” with HSAFH, we will be able to ascertain the location where you are from (which will help us determine the best location) and monitor the number of students who are interested in joining the service. As soon as the number of required students meet our operational goal (70 students) , we will contact you. At this time, that’s all there is to it.
Future Vehicle Pickup and Dropoff
Although we do not offer a pick up and /or drop off service with HSAFH at this time, we are investigating different modes of transportation for the future. Presently, this means that parents (or designated drivers) will be responsible for the transportation needs of their children. One thing to keep in mind is that Florida does allow individuals 16-17 to obtain an “intermediate license”. This will allow students to drive to a HSAFH site since we are only admitting students K9-12 at this time. Another option would be to use the public bus service if available.
However, depending on the success of HSAFH, we could consider operating a fleet of buses if it would be economically feasible.
However, in the meantime, we are very excited to see how the latest “full self driving (FSD)” cars will work out. Both Tesla (Austin only) and Waymo have begun operating “robo-taxis” in Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Austin. It will be very interesting to see how these systems work.
Another very interesting bit of information, Tesla recently has achieved Level 5 full self – driving capability. This means, a Tesla vehicle is now as safe and possibly safer that a standard human driver. Recently, Tesla concluded a study of it’s full service driving (FSD) technology and found that it is actually 10x safer than standard human drivers. This is PHENOMENAL! Specifically, the study revealed that humans produce one accident every 753,000 miles whereas Tesla outfitted with its FSD technology experienced only one accident over every 7 million miles driven, thereby making it 10x safer than humans! This is huge and allows Tesla and other companies with comparable FSD capability to operate as taxis or drive their children wherever they need to go, once approved. Hence, this would be a serious consideration for use with HSAFH, no matter what age your child is. Home School Away From Home (HSAFH) is querying individuals who would be interested in working for HSAFH. Our primary need at this time are Proctors. We offer both Full and Part-time positions. Our initial need will be for locations in the Bradenton area followed by the Sarasota. Please Contact Us for more information.

In this section, we look into two areas of the future. The first, which is featured directly below, looks at the more pressing and immediate considerations that we are actively pursuing or working on.
On the left side, we are offering a view for potential future possibilities that are not in our pipeline at this present time, but could be brought into consideration for later development. Future Locations
Home School Away From Home’s (HSAFH) first location is set to debut in the Bradenton/Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch metropolitan area in 2025 or as soon as a class of 70 students are established. Once established and fully operational, plans are to expand initially into the state of Florida, with a planned systematic expansion into the Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater metropolitan areas. Future Hours
Although HSAFH is currently planned to be open from 8am to 3pm with the debut of its first location, we are looking into the possibility of opening earlier and closing later. This will be determined by the needs of our clients. For example, if a majority of our students need to be dropped off around 7am and some stay till around 5pm, we would seriously consider changes that could accommodate these needs. Of course, we will not be able to assess this until operations begin.
Who Can Apply to HSAFH
At this time, HSAFH is only available to high school students, specifically classes K9-12. Once our operation is established and we are ready to expand, we most likely consider incorporating classes K6-8.
As mentioned above, our initial debut will begin in the Bradenton/Sarasota metropolitan area (including Lakewood Ranch) in 2025. This will include the latest township of Lakewood Ranch. At this time, we are searching the most convenient and adequately suited dwellings that will be best for our customers. If interested, please sign up so you stay abreast of our future opening.
